Hi families!
My name is Raelyn Bedford and I am an online student at Muskegon Community College. I want to get my degree in social work as I want to work in foster care and want to get more experience with children and families!
I’d love to tell you a little about myself! I have been working with kids since 2016. I have under a year of professional nanny experience though I have been babysitting for 8+ years. I have pet/house sat for 30+ families over 5 years and continue to add more families and experience. I have worked with kids in a wheelchair, who has separation anxiety that causes them to stop breathing, and anxiety. While I have little nannying experience, I am excited to find the perfect family to get my start!
My certifications:
When I'm not spending time with kids, I love
I grew up in a big, blended family with 3 blood siblings and 9 stepsiblings between my two parents' remarriages, with having such a big family I have come to love kids! My mom was a child director in my church throughout my life so I have always helped her with the kids and have grown to love watching kids grow, explore, and learn. I love working with kids because it allows me to let my inner child shine and gives me room to be myself and creative! I love creating new activities for kids inside and outside! I love
I able to drive kids around, take them to their sporting/school events, travel with their families, and help with sick kids.
Some things that separate me from other caregivers are I love to interact with kids and be hands-on, including getting down on the floor and playing with them instead of just watching them! I love being able to be a role model and big sitter to all the kids I work with. I try to not only limit my screen time but also the kids' screen time by only using my phone for emergencies, contact with my family and the parents, and also for directions or logging kids' habits.
I’ve loved all the families I’ve worked for in the past and enjoyed building relationships with not only the parents but the children as well! The parents I’ve worked for in the past would gladly speak on my behalf as a reference.
